With strikingly realistic computer re-creations, you' ll feel like you ve traveled to the edge of the unknown: visit strange and unfamiliar worlds in Exoplanets, prepare for the worst in Cosmic Collisions, and uncover the secrets of our own galaxy, the Milky Way. And that s just the beginning... learn exactly what Dark Matter is and how it takes up 95% of the universe; take a front-row seat for the ultimate light show with Supernovas; and while most people have heard of black holes (which swallow all matter that they come in contact with), find out more about White Holes which actually create matter.
Mere adjectives don't pay justice to this collection. It is thrilling, entertaining, an optical extravaganza and downright unearthly.

An informative series on the universe. The episodes are presented in very captivating ways to keep viewer interest on the screen. This includes the way the narration is presented, soundtrack, and the many computer graphic animations to illustrate the concepts presented.

Ambitious and intelligent, The Universe: The Complete Season Two is well worth picking up, particularly if you have school-age children. It's rare to find a program that does so well at feeding into intellectual curiosity and while keeping its sense of fun.

If you are interested in astronomy, science, or even science fiction, then this is a show that will make its way through your standard viewing rotation. It's an insightful, thought-provoking, educational, and entertaining program that is arguably one of the best things to come from the History Channel in recent years.

Though they are fairly similar, I enjoyed Season Two of "The Universe" somewhat more than the first. The experts were more engaging, but the subject matter is the major improvement.

The Universe is, on its second go around, uniformly excellent. And, once again, much of its success lies in the pairing of goofy CGI and sensationalistic narration with explanations from various experts to form a entertainingly winning combo.
